Haweswater Hotel

“Generous in a stunning location.”

When you think of a place in the middle of nowhere, this hotel should be the very definition. This is a very pretty hotel on the outside, a stunning stone building sitting on a terrace with stunning views of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains.
Inside, the hotel has an art deco theme, with generous lounge areas and a small bar area and small separate restaurant.
We were given a deluxe room on the top floor, beware there are no lifts, and the fire doors are overly weighted. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. We also had a generous en suite with a wonderful shower and very large bath. The only complaint I have with the room is that the sleigh bed was too short and too narrow for somebody both tall and broad like myself.
The included breakfast was also very generous, drinks, toast and a highly recommended Cumbrian full breakfast. As for the non-included evening dinner service the food selection was good and of good quality and at a good price.

“Great location, great room, great food.”

This pub and hotel is a great place to stay, stunning location, beautiful clean rooms, and good food. It is a bit expensive but I feel it was well worth it for the location, lovely views and a quiet area.
