Hotel Ziakis

“Not my cup of tea.”

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Situated in the hills above Pefkos, in certain parts of the hotels the views across Pefkos and the bay were stunning, in other parts the view was obstructed in parts by other apartments. Air-con was a purchasable extra at 55 Euro a week and certainly needed, as is a good pair of shoes, or a supply of cash for a taxi as the walk down to Pefkos and back is very taxing.
The facilities in the room were basic but usable. A desk, wardrobe, small kitchenette with kettle 2 burner hob small fridge sink and a few basic tableware and cutlery. The room was cleaned to an okay standard but we had a problem with pests, in particular a nest of ants behind the skirting in the corner of the room and a group in the room next door being extremely noisy from midnight to 4am every day, scraping chairs and furniture all day and night and even after complaining to the hotel management and them getting a phone call to keep the noise down, they kept going, only louder.
The hotel has a mini-market with some brow raising prices (Like most of the markets around) and a small seating area on one side of the reception and a bar on the other side, which felt a bit understocked, unless you wanted beer.
We personally had a bad experience here and there are a lot of positive reviews for this hotel so I would hope that our experience isn’t the norm, but we will not be returning here.
